U16 Boys Indoor National Champions!

Secretary Repton HC17 Jan - 14:05

& 6 Repton teams involved in the England Hockey Super 6s National competitions

Congratulations to the U16 Boys who were crowned National Super 6s Champions on Sunday at Derby Arena. Led by captain and tournament top goal scorer, Arthur B and featuring 3 Under 14 boys the squad grew in confidence throughout the day. Despite coming second in their pool, the team stepped up against an impressive Wimbledon HC, winning the semi-final 1-0, with a man of the match performance from goal keeper Anton S. They cruised to victory with a 5-0 win in the National Final vs Winchester with goals from Arthur (2), Stanley (2) and U14 Tom S. Well done to all the players and coaches on such a successful and committed indoor campaign.

After a junior indoor training programme which started in October, the U16 Boys and Girls and U18 Boys and Girls were all deserved 24/25 Midlands Champions and qualified for the Super 6s National Finals. Repton HC was the only club in the country to have all four junior age groups appearing at the National Finals and, with our W1s and M1s also playing in National Super 6s leagues, it was a testament to the efforts of the coaching and managing team that over 70 players enjoyed a weekend of competitive indoor hockey. Congratulations to all players with the U16 Girls finishing in 7th place, the U18 Boys 5th place and the U18 Girls in 7th place.

The W1s continued their battle in the Super 6s Premier Division against some of the largest Premier Division clubs in the country. Despite their standing at the end of the campaign, and relegation to Division 1 in 2025/26, the team should be incredibly proud of their performance over the two weekends with some fine margin, competitive games against top opposition. Highlights include nail biting matches against Buckingham (3-4) and Guildford (3-4) which kept the large Repton crowd on the edge of their seats and allowed the players to showcase their indoor skills against experienced opponents.

Huge thank you to club photographer Simon Buss for some amazing photographs capturing the W1s Super 6s Premier Division campaign!

The M1s had a successful second weekend in Bristol finishing their 24/25 indoor campaign 4th in Division 1. Highlights include excellent performances against Premier Division clubs including Beeston HC (6-4) and Bowdon HC (5-5) with guest players Marius Gemmel and Si Claris both featuring in the top goal scorers table. With five Under 18 boys in the M1s squad the future looks bright for Repton indoor hockey and we are excited for the 25/26 season when the team will be pushing to go one further and earn promotion to the National Premier Division.

Heading in to the second half of the 24/25 outdoor season, this weekend our M2s and junior age group teams are back in action in the Midlands Leagues and EH Championships. Good Luck to the U18 Boys who travel to Beeston HC and the U18 Girls who host Bowdon HC, in the National Tier 1 Quarter Finals.
