We were delighted to welcome 36 pupils from Laundau Forte Academy, Moorhead to the Repton pitches on Friday morning for a hockey skills and game play session with coaches Grace Powell and Head of Performance, Mark Wadsley. This was the first of a weekly summer term course we are running to encourage more youngsters from the local area to try hockey and access the resources and coaching team that we are so privileged to have at Repton.
A huge thank you to family Barlow who have generously supported this initiative, enabling the club to purchase 36 junior hockey sticks and gumshields for the players. There was some fantastic feedback from all the players this Friday morning so thank you also to Mark and Suzanne who have been instrumental in launching our Community Outreach Programme. We look forward to expanding our offering and continuing our Hockey For All campaign through our Sunday morning minis sessions and developing our relationships with local schools.
Don’t forget to pass the word along about our weekly Sunday morning minis sessions for Under 10s! These sessions are a great introduction to hockey in the summer months, open to all on a pay as you play basis and we are really pleased to have so many of our senior players joining the session each week to help coach our youngest members.
